Provides area adults with the educational opportunities needed to be successful workers, parents and community members. The Charlottesville City Schools Adult Education program believes that all adults are capable of learning and deserve a chance to further their education. We offer quality services at affordable cost to a diverse adult population. We offer classes in Basic Academic Skills, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL-five levels), GED Prep, and Family Literacy classes to improve the ability of adults to meet their goals as parents, workers and community members. We also work with businesses to provide custom-designed classes for employees.

Provides instructional services to Charlottesville, Albemarle County and other Central Virginia residents whose academic skills are below the 12th grade level. Services help adults improve their basic skills, prepare for the GED exam, learn English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and learn together with their children. General Adult Education (GAE) provides instructional services to Charlottesville, Albemarle County and other Central Virginia residents who are working toward a high school diploma. Alternative Education - Parklsey, Accomack County Public Schools

The Migrant Program is especially designed to provide continuity in the child's education. The program is held for six weeks during the summer and provides essential learning skills, food, and medical care for the children of migrant workers. Sessions of arts, crafts, and vocational instruction are offered, dependent upon funding. The children are given 3 meals a day as well as the opportunity to bathe and brush their teeth. There is a bilingual program for those students whose first language is Spanish or French Creole (Haitian).
