The Valentine offers hands-on, interactive programs for both students and adults in a continuing effort to bring Richmond's diverse history to life. Reservations must be made in advance. All education programs are compatible with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) requirements, and led by experienced Valentine educators. Programs are 60 minutes in length and include student workbooks.

Through a partnership with Virginia Wesleyan University, those living at Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay can take non-credit courses in art, history, political science, psychology, religion, popular culture, and other subjects. Taught by Virginia Wesleyan faculty, the courses are offered at no cost to Westminster-Canterbury members on site, as well as on the Virginia Wesleyan campus. Those living at Westminster-Canterbury also receive free admission to the University's facilities, plays, concerts, lectures, and athletic events (post-season NCAA tournament play requires admission).
