MCCS Quantico's CDCs are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All classrooms accommodate children according to their developmental age and any special needs. Two meals and one snack are provided daily.

YWCA Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virgina is partnered with Ballad Health Systems to operate the Child Development Center on the campus of the Bristol Regional Medical Center. It was designed to serve the children of Ballad healthcare workers, however, additional openings are often available to parents in need of extended-hour child care within our community.

Pre-K classrooms are located in all elementary schools. Children are screened and served by rank order. Each classroom has one teacher, one assistant and a maximum of 16 children. The pre-k classrooms operate the same hours as grades K-5.

RHCDC offers Preschool for children ages three through Pre-K and After-School Care, Summer Camp and Drop-In Care programs for school age students in the cities of Roanoke and Salem, Roanoke County and local private schools. Small class and group sizes allow staff to spend more individualized time with students.

Provides a public preschool educational program for children age 2-5 with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

This initiative serves at-risk four year olds who are not being served by Head Start. Students must be four years old by September 30 in order to be eligible for the program. Classes meet on all school days and students ride the school bus with other elementary students. Students must attend the preschool in the elementary school where they will attend kindergarten. The Virginia Preschool Initiative emphasizes collaboration among the home, school and community to provide a quality program which fosters the development of the whole child. A safe, nurturing environment is provided at each location which promotes active exploration, curiosity, and an excitement for learning.

ACPS offers preschool to qualifying families through the Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI). The purpose of VPI is to provide quality early childhood programs for at-risk children who are residents of Alexandria City and unserved by Head Start program funding.
