Provides services to farm and migrant workers throughout Virginia. Services include legal counseling on terms of employment, worker health and safety, housing conditions, and the protection of workers against retaliation. Advocacy includes related civil rights cases on ethnicity, nationality, and immigration status, and problems with education, health care, worker's compensation, and public benefits. Offers free legal representation to eligible farm workers and their families.

The Wage and Hour Division administers a wide variety of labor laws providing minimum wage, prevailing wage, overtime, child labor, farm worker, family and medical leave, and many other protections to covered workers in the United States.

Receives and investigates employment discrimination charges against private employers, state, and local governments. People are encouraged to come to the office as early in the morning as possible, to ensure adequate time to complete the intake process. All charges are handled on a walk-in basis.

Responsible for enforcement of VOSH (safe occupational & healthy work environment for employees of businesses), and regulation of child labor law and payment of wage law and labor law. The Northern Virginia Regional Office and Verona Field Office provide service to businesses and employees in the counties of Albemarle, Arlington, Augusta, Bath, Clarke, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Frederick, Greene, Highland, Loudoun, Madison, Nelson, Orange, Page, Prince William, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Stafford, Warren; and the cities of Alexandria, Charlottesville, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Harrisonburg, Manassas, Manassas Park and Staunton, Waynesboro, and Winchester.

Responsible for enforcement of OSHA, (safe occupational & healthy work environment for employees of businesses), apprenticeship training (apprentices are registered through employers for training in specific trades) and regulation of child labor law and payment of wage law and labor law.
