Guardianship Services (Public and Private) In the absence of appropriate family or friends, Family Service is appointed by the court as guardian/conservator responsible for the personal and financial affairs of the client. Service Fees Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid are accepted for some programs. Services may be offered on a subsidized basis to those without insurance. Provides affordable legal assistance for those dealing with federal immigration authorities. Services include assistance with applying for family reunification, permanent residency, citizenship, employment authorization, special visas and more. Bilingual counselors that are accredited by the Department of Justice. While this is a fee based program, CCC offers affordable rates and will waive fees for victims of violence and other at risk populations who do not have the means to pay.

The Commonwealth Attorney's Office prosecutes felonies and misdemeanors that occur in King George County. The prosecution takes place in three courts: Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, General District Court and Circuit Court. The Commonwealth Attorney's Office also administers the Victim/Witness Assistance Program.

CTLP provides free legal representation in tax disputes, educates taxpayers about their rights and responsibilities, and identifies and advocates for issues that impact low-income taxpayers.

Receives and investigates charges of job discrimination. Enforces laws to prevent discrimination by employers, labor unions or employment agencies when applying for a job or while on the job because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, or disability. Offers mediation as an alternative to the traditional investigative or litigation process. All laws enforced by EEOC, except the Equal Pay Act (EPA), require filing a charge with EEOC before a private lawsuit may be filed in court.

Attorneys on staff provide information on disability laws including the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Represents persons with hearing loss in selected discrimination cases.

LAWS Legal Services provides legal consultation and representation to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking who need assistance obtaining a protective order or with other family law issues. All services are confidential and free of charge.
