Provides free education workshops on sexual assault and domestic violence. We provide support and advocacy to the UVA community who have concerns about sexual assault, dating/domestic violence (battering), and stalking Our goals are to strengthen services for survivors, as well as the University of Virginia policies and procedures that address these issues.

Counselors address the needs and concerns of men and women who are survivors of sexual violence. Counseling is available whether the violence occurred recently or in the past. The Women's Resource Center also offers counseling services for school-aged children and teens who have experienced or witnessed sexual or domestic violence.

Offers a rape prevention program to Metro area schools and colleges. Train professionals in rape prevention and in understanding rape survivors. Provides programs to raise community awareness about sexual assault and ways to prevent it.

Home visiting is a proven prevention strategy for delivering family-strengthening services to children and parents. Families are typically referred prenatally or at the time of the baby's delivery. Families will receive an initial visit, during which their strengths and needs are identified. A determination is then made about whether Healthy Families or other services in the community are right for them. Families are voluntarily connected to community resources they prefer. Families who do best in the program are willing to receive at least one home visit per week for the first six months after the baby's birth. After that the frequency is determined by their needs and progress. Families have the choice to receive services until the child enters preschool or until the child's fifth birthday. Families must enroll prenatally or within three months of birth. There are no income restrictions.

Youth Services provides resource information for county youths and families and leads collaborative initiatives that engage the community in promoting the safety, well-being and success of Chesterfield County youths.

Provides a non-profit organization operated by a Board of Directors and a Steering Committee made up of citizens and law enforcement personnel with a wide variety of backgrounds. They donate their time and effort in the fight against crime to help make the community as safe and secure as possible. Cash rewards are paid for information that leads to the arrest of persons involved in criminal activity. Provides a non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to the reduction of gun violence in Virginia by publishing and distributing newsletters, partnering with advocacy groups, and working closely with legislators to plan and support measures that help prevent gun violence.

TRIAD is a crime prevention program for seniors. The Mecklenburg Co. Sheriff's Office and the community work together to reduce criminal victimization of the elderly.

Provides a program for troubled at-risk youth. This program is available by agency referral only. Agencies by refer at-risk youth for services which include Special Education, Foster Care and Foster Care Prevention.

Crime Prevention Unit is to develop, implement, coordinate and evaluate departmental crime prevention efforts. These efforts are aimed at protecting the citizens of Norfolk from victimization by anticipating, recognizing and assessing the crime risk opportunity and initiating appropriate action to eliminate or reduce the opportunity for crime to occur

Provides direct support to individuals and families who are victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault (primarily adult victims but including the non-offending parent in child abuse cases) by providing crisis intervention, education and resources, ensuring victim safety, pre-trial, trial and post-trial support, promoting healthy family interactions and reducing risk factors to family maltreatment.

The program focuses on risk awareness, risk reduction, and risk avoidance education in conjunction with basic physical defense techniques. The overall goal is to reduce victimization through informed decision-making and sensible actions.

Focuses on reducing crime and on senior safety. Hampton's TRIAD also addresses any mature adult and senior concerns. In addition to the Sheriff's Office, Fire and Police Department, membership consists of representatives from organizations such as Department of Social Services' Foster Grandparents Program, Aberdeen Gardens Historic & Civic Association, Queen Street Beacon @ the Crossroads, Six House, Inc., Wythe-Phenix Improvement League., etc., all working together to connect seniors with resources to match their needs.

Serve as liaison between the Lynchburg Police Department and the community. Programs include: self-protection for women and senior citizens; drug awareness; bicycle safety; firearms safety; neighborhood watch; home and business security surveys; shoplifting seminars; Ride-A-Long and question and answer sessions. NRV CARES provides community education about child abuse and its effects through events including: Community presentations, sponsoring "Hugs and Kisses" plays for elementary schools, annual mini-conference, parenting workshops, "Stewards of Children" child sexual abuse prevention training sessions, and increasing aware through distribution of pinwheels during Child Abuse Prevention month (April).

A major purpose of TRIAD is to develop, expand and implement effective crime prevention and education programs for older Virginians.

Sponsors many programs related to crime prevention, such as burglary prevention, substance abuse prevention, personal security, home security, and rape and assault prevention.
