Cares for people confined in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Provides work, health care, educational, recreational, substance abuse treatment and other services to prisoners during confinement. Offers transitional residential treatment for selected offenders. The ANCHOR Commission is a governmental entity which oversees a Group Home / Shelter Care facility for male teenagers who are court involved and referred - 12 to 17 years of age. Other services provided for all youth are: Outreach Detention and GPS Monitoring, Seven Challenges and Brief Challenges substance use programs, Aggression Replacement Training (A.R.T.), Co-Parenting: Two Parents, Two Homes (custody) class, Transitional Day Program (TDP) and Lee Ford Camp Recreational Facility.

A jail facility of approximately 264,000 square feet with a rated capacity for 605 inmates with another 200 beds double bunked for a total of 805 inmates. Built by coalition of four localities that formed the Western Virginia Regional Jail Authority which includes the counties of Franklin, Montgomery, and Roanoke and the city of Salem. Houses both male and female inmates who are sentenced waiting for release or transfer to the Dept. of Corrections. Houses overflow inmates from the existing Franklin, Montgomery and Roanoke county jails, to include those with segregation, medical or mental health needs.

The CAP Unit was established upon the closure of the RDC. This unit is dedicated at Bon Air for the intake, orientation, and evaluation of residents newly admitted. Evaluations provided include medical, psychological, behavioral, educational/vocational, and sociological.

Lawrenceville Correctional Center is a Department of Corrections facility operated by The Geo Group, Inc. Security Level 3 - Assignment Criteria: Single, multiple and life+ sentences must have served 20 consecutive years on sentence. No disruptive behavior for at least past 24 months prior to consideration for a transfer to any less-secure facility.

Offers juvenile services ranging from effective community interventions to quality secure detention services.

The Juvenile Detention Center is a secure 121 bed facility. The facility provides pre-dispositional, post dispositional and/or pre-placement detention of juveniles as ordered by the Juvenile Court.

The Richmond Juvenile Detention Center (RJDC) is a secure facility which serves both males and females in the service area of the City of Richmond. The facility is designed to provide safe temporary custody of pre-dispositional residents who are accused of conduct subject to the jurisdiction of the court, pending adjudication and/or disposition of charges placed against them. The Richmond Juvenile Detention Center provides a wide range of helpful services that support the resident's physical, emotional, mental and social development. Additional services include, but are not limited to education, recreation, counseling, nutrition, medical/health care services, reading, visitation, communication and continuous supervision of residents.

Provides pre-dispositional secure custody of up to 48 juveniles placed by the J&D and Family Court Services System. Program offers educational, recreational, medical, supervision, and assessment services along with room, board and clothing. Post-Dispositional Alternative Services are available to the court for youth in lieu of commitment to state learning centers.
