Community Resource Navigators provide over the phone guidance to residents to triage personal financial issues, identify immediate action steps to manage expenses and maximize income and make referrals to other services such as eviction relief, food scarcity and employment. The City of Richmond will offer these Community Resource Navigators services in partnership with HumanKind nonprofit agency. The purpose of this program is to help Richmond residents assess and prioritize their financial concerns by connecting residents with the right resources.

Provides financial counseling to military personnel and family members on how to live within their income. Provides guidance and information on budgets, debt liquidation, money and checkbook management. Counselors on site.

Provides counseling on budget management and education on life skills. Offers a Budget for Baby class. Includes information on variations in pay, increased expenses, common consumer pressures targeted to new parents, and entitlements available through both government and private sources. Issues a coordinated set of bedding and clothing, a baby book, and a handmade item, packed in a tote or duffel bag to those attending a Budget for Baby class or completing an individual budget session with a Society caseworker.

S.A.F.E provides emergency financial support by assisting current and former military with past due rent, security deposits and utility assistance. The S.A.F.E program also provides financial education resources on saving, budgeting and living on a fixed income.

In addition to workshops, AppCAA offers one-on-one counseling for participants to help them develop budgets, understand types of financial services, and devise individual plans for improving their financial situations.
