The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) support all parents in our program by building trusting relationships with them through one-to-one meetings three times per year. We offer case management, home visits, navigation to basic needs services, and a variety of workshops provided on-site to further empower our families. AppCAA provides financial education through group and individual workshops designed for adults seeking to strengthen their financial well-being. Topics include budgeting and saving strategies, debt reduction, credit building, fraud prevention, and pathways to financial independence. Workshops are approximately one hour in length and available both in person and virtually to increase accessibility. In addition to workshops, AppCAA offers confidential one-on-one financial counseling. Certified counselors work with participants to create personalized budgets, evaluate financial products and services, and develop actionable plans to improve their overall financial stability.

Money Management and Credit Recovery Classes offered to potential first-time homeowners or anyone seeking this information. Class is once a month on Zoom on first Thursday of each month 6-8pm unless a holiday.

The Personal Financial Management Program provides personal financial education, training, counseling and information and referral through one-on-one training, group classes, and unit training. The Coast Guard Mutual Assistance provides financial assistance to clients caught in emergency, short-term, financial situations beyond their control that endanger personal well-being. An emergency condition is one that arises suddenly, is unforeseen and urgent, and requires immediate attention. Emergency assistance is generally authorized in circumstances that impose a serious financial or personal hardship on the client requiring urgent help to relieve the situation.

Available to assist families completing applications to provide health insurance for their children.

Thrive is a long-term mentoring program and not an immediate financial assistance program. Individuals enrolled in the program may receive direct financial support with rent, mortgage, or utilities if it aligns with their goals, or if urgency occurs for them while in the program. To receive housing relief, individuals must actively be in the program and complete certain steps.*

Second Story operates neighborhood-based drop-in centers and after-school programs, including a Teen Center, for youth and families in Culmore, Annandale, and Springfield.
