Vital Records - Henrico, West Henrico Health Department

Certified copies of birth certificates can be obtained from the Henrico Health Department for any as long as the birth occurred in Virginia. Birth records can be issued to the legal guardian with proof of custody papers. Aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, etc. cannot obtain a Vital Record. A death certificate is filed with the local health department in the city or county in which the death occurred. Henrico Vital Records keeps death certificates for the past five years.
