The Energy Assistance Program (EAP)consists of three components; Fuel Assistance (FA), Coolng Assistance (CA) and Emergency Crisis Assistance (CAP). The FA component is intended to provide supplemental assistance to offset the rising costs of heating expenses. The last day for applying is the second Friday in November. Emergency Assistance - Norfolk, Ghent Area Ministry

Offers financial and material assistance for individuals who are homeless or in financial need. Freemason Street Baptist has partnered with other Ghent area churches to provide clothing, limited financial assistance for disconnection for utilities, prescription medication and/or coats to those who need them. In the case of medications, GAM is unable to fill any narcotics or psychotropics. Limited funds available for utility assistance GAM will provide the last $50 of the total bill.

Offers financial help for those in crisis situations. Applicants are screened by Social Services and the Community Action Agency and interviewed by AICC volunteers. Approved funds are paid to the vendors from the AICC, distributed by a provider, to help pay for services such as housing, medical care, and utilities, in Accomack County VA only.

Assistance is based on the availability of funds.
