For those facing financial hardship from unemployment, a family crisis, or a chronic medical condition, EnergyShare is Dominion's energy assistance program of last resort. There is no income guideline requirement, however, clients must have a disconnect notice. EnergyShare intake agencies determine eligibility for EnergyShare and may have additional requirements when qualifying customers for this program.

Provides Emergency Financial Assistance with partial payment of rent /mortgage, utilities (electric, gas, water), and some medical, dental, vision, and prescription medications.

Provides financial assistance for emergency needs for utilities, food, traveler's assistance, once every twelve months.

Offers financial and material assistance for individuals who are homeless or in financial need. Freemason Street Baptist has partnered with other Ghent area churches to provide clothing, limited financial assistance for disconnection for utilities, prescription medication and/or coats to those who need them. In the case of medications, GAM is unable to fill any narcotics or psychotropics. Limited funds available for utility assistance GAM will provide the last $50 of the total bill.

Provides rent assistance to residents of Richmond City and Henrico County. Rent must be 1-month overdue, late fees and other fees must be paid prior to funds being released. Do not assist with rent deposit nor move in expenses or hotel fees.

Applications are accepted the second Tuesday in October through the second Friday in November. Crisis Assistance assists low-income households with energy related emergencies. Applications are accepted November 1st through March 15th. Cooling Assistance assists households in acquiring or repairing cooling equipment and /or payment of electric bills to operate cooling equipment. The last day for applying is the second Friday in November. Main Qualifications: Have a heating need, meet the income and resource levels, include all persons living in the household, live in an eligible living arrangement and meet the citizenship requirements. Crisis Assistance applicants must meet the following: income level, resource level. Deposits: Opens the first working day in November. May only receive once per lifetime per fuel type. (Natural gas, electric and LP gas) Heating Equipment: Opens November 1st or the first working day in November for Replacement, purchase, or repair of primary heating source. Primary Fuel: Opens the first working day in January. It is for those that did not receive fuel assistance. Requires cut off notice for electric and gas. Almost out of fuel oil, wood, coal or island purchased kerosene. Cooling Assistance: Is offered during the beginning in mid-June. Must meet eligibility requirements

VPAS' Emergency Services program provides one-time immediate financial assistance and other resources, including referrals to other public and private agencies to older adults who have an emergency need. Emergency Services may include payment assistance for medication refills, assistive devices, and utility and rent payments. Assistance is provided one-time, per year, per older adult age 60+, who must have an emergency need for help which endangers their health and/or well-being.

Provides an emergency fund in each county that is supported entirely from donations. Financial assistance with utility bills is given to those who are income eligible. RARA provides temporary assistance with past due electric, water, and heating bills to families in Rockbridge County.

Provides limited direct financial assistance to individuals/families in need and help to address basic necessities. Examples are rent/mortgage, groceries, medical co-pays and fuel and electric assistance.

The Salvation Army of Loudoun can help with utilities – such as Dominion, NOVEC, and gas. We do not currently help with water. During the heating season (January – May), funds from the Washington Area Fuel Fund (WAFF) and Dominion are available to help with any heating source.

Emergency services program assist low income, elderly clients with utility terminations, the purchase of prescription medication and similar emergencies that arise. Financial assistance is available one time per year per person and is restricted to low income area residents aged 60 and older in the City of Fredericksburg and the 4 surrounding counties. Assistance up to $100 once a year. This agency helps with the last $100. If bill is more that $100, will need client to bring proof of pledges from other organizations.

We do not assist with security deposits or first month rent. PCC assists eligible clients one time per year, depending on funding availability. All payments are made directly to vendors. Prescription assistance is available for eligible clients, based on funding. PCC serves only southeast and northeast Roanoke City, eastern Roanoke County and Vinton residents.

S.A.F.E provides emergency financial support by assisting current and former military with past due rent, security deposits and utility assistance. The S.A.F.E program also provides financial education resources on saving, budgeting and living on a fixed income.
