A service of Valley Metro that is operated by RADAR, S.T.A.R. provides transportation to people with disabilities who are unable to ride a Valley Metro bus. The following are guidelines under which we operate the S.T.A.R. service: *Service Area: The entire City of Roanoke, the town of Vinton, and the city of Salem are service areas; within 3/4 of one mile on either side of a regular Valley Metro fixed route. Does not serve other areas of Roanoke County. * Qualification: To be qualified for S.T.A.R. service, you must first submit a completed application to Valley Metro. To acquire an application, you may call Valley Metro at 540-982-2222 and have one mailed or faxed to you. You may also download an application from the website. When you and your medical professional of choice have completed the application, you may mail it to us at: Valley Metro - STAR Service PO Box 13247 Roanoke, VA 24032-3247 Completed applications may be faxed to 540-982-2703 to the attention of STAR Service. Visitors: If a person is eligible for Americans with Disabilities Act Para-transit through another transit system, and is visiting within the S.T.A.R service area, please call the office in advance regarding transit needs to access the STAR service during your visit. Out of area callers may call toll free at 800-388-7005.If a person is ADA Certified through the STAR service, and will be visiting in another city, contact the public transportation provider in that city regarding their policies for visitors.

Hampton Roads Transit Paratransit services are available to certified passengers. To become certified, call toll free at (877) ADA-RIDE (1-877-232-7433) and request an eligibility application. Once certified, you can schedule a ride by calling 757-455-8010 and TDD 757-244-2309.Reservation hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Reservations must be made no later than 5:00 PM the day before you need transportation and you can reserve a ride up to 7 days in advance. Restrictions may apply for additional passengers and carry-on items. The current fare for Paratransit is $3.50 per trip.

Ride Assist Services provides volunteer transportation to Powhatan County, VA seniors, age 60 over who are unable to drive themselves, for basic needs: medical/dental appointments, pharmacy, grocery shopping, personal business such as banking, community agency, post office.

Provides transportation for the Town of Front Royal. The Front Royal Area Transit (FRAT) provides transportation within the Town of Front Royal. FRAT runs on a fixed route that begins and ends at the Front Royal/Warren County Visitor's Center. The schedule repeats every hour. The first run starts at 8:30AM and the last run starts at 4PM. ACCESSIBILITY: The FRAT Bus is ADA accessible and equipped with the latest wheelchair lifts and security systems.
