Provides a Rental Assistance Program for Shenandoah, Warren and Page Counties administered through the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA). WAITING LIST FOR THIS SERVICE: Approximately 6-12 months. The HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program offers Section 8 housing assistance subsidy for qualified households meeting eligibility requirements. Does not offer security deposits or housing repairs. Offers HUD Section 8 rental assistance only. ACCESSIBILITY: Fully accessible to persons with disabilities.

Provides and manages low income rental housing. Also provides assistance to rehabilitate dwelling for low income homeowners and administers the HIP Homeless Intervention Program for the counties of Augusta, Bath, Highland and the cities of Waynesboro and Staunton. The purpose of the Homeless Intervention Program (HIP) is to provide time-limited financial and housing counseling assistance to low income individuals and families experiencing a financial crisis and are at risk of homelessness or who are currently homeless. HIP assistance is intended to facilitate their ability to maintain or obtain permanent housing. Also assists client with mortgage foreclosure information.

Provides the land, develops new and rehabilitates existing low income, single family and multifamily housing. Participates in federal (Rural Development and HUD) rehabilitation, weatherization and rental assistance programs. Offers a subsidized rentals to low and moderate income families. Manages a VHDA Section Eight subsidized property. Owns and operates a Rural Development 515 Project of 54 units of located in this subdivision. Administers seven block grants for the Town of Big Stone Gap. Provides 124 units of Section 8 Rental Assistance.

Provides housing for low and moderate income, disadvantaged, elderly, handicapped and displaced persons and/or families under HUD, section 8, rent subsidies or VHDA, low interest mortgage program.

Public housing provides decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly and people with disabilities.

Provides affordable housing for low income individuals and their families. Offers Section 8 housing and a Family Self-Sufficiency Program to help low income individuals become homeowners.

BHC owns, operates and develops affordable apartment communities in the Metro-Richmond region for modest-income families and senior residents. Free and voluntary resident support services help residents of our rental communities achieve greater health, economic and academic outcomes. BHC also encourages equity building by developing and selling single-family homes for first-time homebuyers.

Serves low income residents of the City of Charlottesville by providing affordable housing for low income families including seniors and individuals with disabilities. The CRHA manages 376 units of public housing at 11 sites in Charlottesville. The Charlottesville Redevelopment & Housing Authority also administers 300 "Section 8" rental units through leased contracts with private owners and provides First Time Home Buyer Assistance and Down Payment & Closing Costs Assistance.
