This homeownership program supports low income families in attaining affordable homeownership. The program partners with families and volunteers to build decent, affordable homes. The home is sold to the family with a no interest mortgage. Families are expected to complete a minimum of 300 hours of sweat equity (labor) toward the building of homes. Families must participate in educational programs, fundraising, building, etc. Applicants must show ability and willingness to pay the mortgage payments.

Provides Housing Choice vouchers to low to moderate income eligible families who reside in the City of Charlottesville. Participants typically pay approximately 30% of their income for rent and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) pays the rest.
