BHC owns, operates and develops affordable apartment communities in the Metro-Richmond region for modest-income families and senior residents. Free and voluntary resident support services help residents of our rental communities achieve greater health, economic and academic outcomes. BHC also encourages equity building by developing and selling single-family homes for first-time homebuyers.

NCIA’s Community Living Homes provides housing for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them lead full and active lives in their community. NCIA has 40 residential homes throughout Baltimore County, Baltimore City, and Prince George’s County, where residents can choose to live alone or with roommates. Staff assist residents in making community connections, developing independent living skills, and promoting a socially active lifestyle. Support is tailored to each person’s individualized needs, including case management, clinical, and nursing support, empowering them to live more independently and achieve greater self-sufficiency.

One and two bedroom, apartment community for moderate income adults ages 55 and over. Residents must be able to live independently or with some help from family or a licensed caregiver. Section 8 certificate holders may apply.

Fellowship Square provides housing for low-income seniors (aged 62 and older) who can live independently and mobility-impaired persons under age 62. Fellowship Square meets the physical, social and emotional needs of more than 800 residents.

Elmtree is a group home for individuals 18+ who have an intellectual disability and other secondary disabilities, such as emotional/behavioral problems or physical disabilities. Elmtree provides access to social and recreational activities and makes available religious and employment opportunities in the community or at home. The application process includes providing credit references, housing references, verification of income and disability. Renters must meet all VHDA requirements and sign a one-year lease. Elmtree has available staff on-site 24 hours a day.

Offers options for independent living, short-term rehabilitation, assisted living and long-term nursing care. Housing for low income seniors and persons with physical disabilities. Applicants must qualify under income provisions of Section 8 Rental Assistance program sponsored by the Federal government. The income levels depend on the size of your family. Services include free access to The Wellness Center at Richfield, a 24 hour emergency call system, transportation for shopping and twenty four hour campus security.

Provides an independent living facility for individuals aged 62 and over.

DBVI provides services and resources which empower individuals who are blind, vision impaired or deafblind to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and personal independence. Services are provided through 4 main programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Teaching and Independent Living, Low Vision Services and Education Services. Most services are provided in the person's home, school, or workplace. Referrals are accepted from individuals, families, schools, doctors, and other community partners.

Mental Health Skill-building Services (formerly titled Mental Health Support Services) are provided for individuals 18 years and older who suffer from serious mental illness or mental illness with intellectual disabilities or substance abuse. This home and community-based program includes training, assistance and monitoring for individuals with a mental health diagnosis and who meet eligibility criteria.

The individuals in the Community Support Program receive drop-in services from our dedicated and highly trained Direct Support Professionals. These individuals live in their own homes or in their family’s homes. Our DSPs provide personalized services that enable them to navigate their community and manage their everyday life.

Includes meals, weekly housekeeping,activities, lounges, and more. Free transportation available for residents to physician appointments, shopping and other personal appointments. Licensed by the State of Virginia to provide Assisted Living Services. Offers 24-hour on site licensed nurses who provide medication management, assistance with bathing, dressing and other personal services. Assisted Living Services are provided in the same apartment as the independent living services are offered.
