The Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia's Special Needs Program offers unique programming for individuals with special needs. The program is designed to develop physical and social skills by uniquely combining therapeutic sessions with inclusion programs. The program features small participant-staff ratios and offers social programs, family events and recreational social skills classes. During the pandemic, programs are primarily offered virtually, however, social skills classes are offered in-person with safety measures in place.

Provides day support services and a Lifeskills program for individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities. Services are person-centered and community-based.

SEL sessions focus on the following skills: -self-awareness -self-management -social awareness -responsible decision-making -relationship skills The team works within school systems and after-school programs to support all grade levels. SWC’s 10-week curriculum is developed by counseling staff and is tailored to meet the unique needs of each community. Groups are centered on interactive activities and engagement.

Assists people with disabilities to acquire the skills needed to live independently, such as financial management, acquired social skills, household management, etc.

Provide supportive residential care services in a safe, Structured, and family oriented environment. The program assists individuals with daily living activities, community integration, personal development, and independent living skills while promoting dignity, stability, and overall wellbeing.

DBVI provides services and resources which empower individuals who are blind, vision impaired or deafblind to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and personal independence. Services are provided through 4 main programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Teaching and Independent Living, Low Vision Services and Education Services. Most services are provided in the person's home, school, or workplace. Referrals are accepted from individuals, families, schools, doctors, and other community partners.

Mental Health Skill Building (MHSS) is a program for those individuals who suffer from mental illness and lack basic living skills, those who need connections to community resources and require help in managing their psychiatric symptoms. CCCS will develop individualized support plans that are specific to the client’s needs, a plan with an emphasis on managing psychiatric symptoms and establishing consistent medication management.

Offers a a Life Skills Transition Program that provides transitional independent living skills for the disabled. Persons with disabilities participate in services to prepare them for optimal independence within their home, community and family structure. LICENSED BY: Virginia State Board of Education

Foster teens who are at least 16 years of age. This program varies from year to year depending on the needs of the teens and the funding available from the State. Based on needs identified through an Independent Living Needs Assessment, the teens receive counseling and participate in group activities regarding subjects that will assist them in becoming competent adults and self-sufficient, productive citizens.

Providing Mental Health Services to Adults and Youth, services include: Mental Health Skill-building, Life Skills (Independent Living Skills), Mentoring.

Didlake Day Support Programs provide opportunities for people with disabilities to optimize their personal, social, and vocational skills. Programs and services focus on personal growth and learning to help each individual live a full, responsible, productive life. Provides a supportive environment and encourage individuals to have new experiences. All individuals are active participants along with their family members, support coordinators, and direct caregivers in the development of their specific program plan. Program plans support the individual needs, desires, and interests of each participant.

Retirement village include 14 individual 2-bedroom privately-owned cottages for independent living and a 60 bed assisted living facility with 20 additional beds for residents with Alzheimer's or a related dementia.

These programs serve people who are recovering from mental illness by providing a safe and supportive environment that promotes independent living, social and interpersonal skills, and relapse prevention. Attending daily classes provides education about mental illness, substance use, and appropriate medication. Engaging in volunteering opportunities and engaging in social activities promotes empowerment, recovery, and competency. Services include: Face-to-face Service Specific Provider Intake (SSPI) that identifies treatment needs Development of Individualized Service Plans (ISP) which identify an individual's needs and goals in the area of mental health recovery and stability in the community Psycho-educational activities to teach about mental illness and appropriate medication to avoid complications and relapse Social skills training, peer support, and community resource development to promote empowerment, recovery, and competency Opportunities to learn and use independent living skills, and to enhance social and interpersonal skills Field trips to provide training in an integrated setting in order to increase an individual's understanding or ability to access community resources and meet goals outlined in the ISP

Serves adults 18 years old or older with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Provides individuals with opportunities and training in daily living skills, socialization, recreation and community integration. Transportation is provided to the program.

Provides independent and assisted living for older adults and individuals living with a disability.

Provides a continuing care retirement community with independent living apartments and cottages, assisted living studio apartments and services and licensed nursing care. An applicant must be 65 years of age or older, or if a couple, one member must be at least 65 years of age. In addition, an applicant must meet the admission requirements for a cottage or apartment at Kendal at Lexington.

My Path Forward Legacy provides housing and wrap-around services for youth who have aged out of foster-care, equipping them with skills to achieve independence and personal success. My Path Forward Independent Living provides Independent Living Arrangement Services for youth 17-20 year of age.

The Arc of Southside provides individualized supports to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities that meet their needs to live as independently as possible. Services provided: Day Support Residential

SOAR365 Youth Services is a skill-building program for young people with disabilities. Direct support professionals (DSPs) offer personalized activities and supports to help participants meet their goals.

Provides an Independent and Assisted Living Community offering housing for senior citizens age 62+. Services include spacious apartments, housekeeping, three meals per day, emergency monitoring system, activities and scheduled transportation.

Goal directed trainings to enable individuals to achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment.

Training on the know-how to live independently, from budgeting to traveling, from personal assistant management to job seeking, and more.

Provides independent housing for 60 years of age and older. Cottages are available with living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens with appliances and gardens.

A community based day support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each participant receives individualized training and support to achieve their greatest potential.

The ECNV Travel Training program is for people with disabilities who want to learn to travel safely and independently using public transportation in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Through the multi-day program that is comprehensive and individualized, individuals will learn a variety of travel skills that will enable them to ride local transportation independently. The Travel Trainers will work with individuals to learn transit routes to travel anywhere within the Washington, D.C. metro area.
