Independent Living Skills - Washington, Deaf-REACH

Offers life skills training and socialization programs for deaf and developmentally disabled individuals. Also offers vocational training, which enables members to develop basic work skills in collating, labeling, folding, and other bulk mailing tasks through participation in sheltered workshops. Work is contracted for fees from which members are paid. Provides one-on-one with staff on individual goals such as learning one's name in sign language and how to write one's address.

Counseling - Charlottesville, Community Attention

The program serves children between the ages of 10 and 18. The program implements individual and group counseling services to teach adolescents life skills. Provides employment coaching as well as coordination of therapeutic services. The program is participant focused but works to involve the parents in treatment planning. The frequency and intensity of the contacts with the Youth Counselor are determined according to the individual needs of the participants. Youth typically are in the program and monitored between 2 and 6 months. Community Attention works in conjunction with the 16th District Court Services Unit to provide Electronic Monitoring, Assessment, and Diversion services to Charlottesville and Albemarle County. Housing-Seniors - Blacksburg, Founders Forest Townhomes, Warm Hearth Village

Offers 103 independent single level attached homes and is part of the continuum of care offered at Warm Hearth Village retirement community. Residents pay a Life-lease fee at occupancy based on the neighborhood and floor plan selected. A minimum of 40 percent of the Life lease fee is returned to the resident or his or her estate. Features six floor plans measuring between 1080 and 1541 square feet. Each home has two bedrooms, two full baths, a living room and a dining room. Some have a den, garage, eat in kitchen and mud room. The monthly service fee paid covers water, sewer, trash collection, pest control, outside lighting of walkways, evening security, maintenance of the home's appliances, ground maintenance, and response to the individual emergency call systems. Residents have access to Village services such as dining, exercise room, therapies, transportation, planned activities, and receive priority admission to next levels of care.
