The First Time Homebuyers Club is for individuals who have never owned a home or who have never held primary ownership of a residence in the past three years. Eligible homes purchased must be located in the City of Lynchburg.
This 12 month program will enroll members who have a goal of home ownership. The club will assist customers in planning for home ownership. Club activities will include financial planning, credit repair, mortgage education, home maintenance.
This program provides housing counseling to individuals with HIV/AIDS and serves as a support system for clients and their families. Clients receive emergency assistance for short-term rental, utility payments, transportation and food.

Provides housing assistance, in the form of supplemental rent and housing rehabilitation/repair services, to those who qualify as low income. Manages the Section 8 Rental Assistance program in both counties. The FLHF has a part time home buyer counselor on staff to assist first time home buyers. The organization manages the Indoor Plumbing Program and State Emergency Home Repair Program. In addition, the Foundation has funds for grants and loans to repair dwellings. The FLHF also provides/installs/sells portable, modular aluminum ramps. For all services please contact the main office in Louisa.
Virginia Housing offers homebuyer education classes online or in-person.

Offers counselors that explain how interested parties can take out a loan, which typically does not have to be paid back as long as they live in their home. This counseling service fulfills the HUD prerequisite for Reverse Mortgage application.

This program helps first-time homebuyers purchase in Arlington by providing a deferred-payment, zero-interest second trust mortgage of up to 25% of the home purchase price. Must attend a 6-hour VHDA Homebuyer Education Course and obtain a certificate of completion.
Provides individual housing counseling to help avoid foreclosures, offers first-time home buyers workshops, and assists special-needs clients avoid homelessness.
