The Blue Ridge Habitat for Humanity Aging in Place (AIP) program makes accessibility, safety, energy efficiency and home improvements for seniors living in the City of Winchester and the counties of Frederick, Clarke and Shenandoah. Examples of repairs for Aging in Place include: Installation of handrails and portable aluminum ramps Fitting bathrooms with accessible fixtures Minor electrical, heating, plumbing and roof repairs Porch repairs Weatherization

Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income homeowners who live in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park to make exterior and interior home repairs that alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or housing code violations. From minor exterior repairs to critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, and weatherization.

Provides assistance with indoor plumbing for Greene, Orange and Madison County residents. Skyline CAP, Inc. provides application and case management services and some funding through HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal). Indoor Plumbing and Plumbing Rehabilitation clients are then referred to AHIP (Albemarle Housing Improvement Program) for Greene County or Rapidan Better Housing for Madison and Orange counties for repairs to owner-occupied dwellings that have no water or wastewater systems or have failed systems or systems that do not meet basic housing standards. Typically, we assist with roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electric, hot water, well, and septic. We may be able to assist on other repairs as funding and labor are available, and dependent upon the number of ongoing repairs in the community.

Provides direct loans to borrowers who cannot obtain financing elsewhere. They must have good credit and meet reasonable underwriting criteria. Loans are for home ownership opportunities and assistance to low-income households to purchase, construct and repair a home. Loans can be up to 100% loan to value ratios. Qualified individuals may be eligible to receive payment assistance which may reduce their payment from the established note rate of interest.

The program is designed to offer financial assistance to owner-occupied residents of Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park to correct health and safety issues as well as to increase energy efficiency within their properties. The purpose of the Neighborhood Housing Rehabilitation Program is to preserve and improve owner occupied properties and to bring properties up to applicable building codes and standards. Assistance provided should accomplish the following: correct exterior and interior deficiencies; make accessibility modifications; correct health and safety violations; improve weatherization and energy conservation; and correct lead-based paint violations. General improvements are also eligible under this program. General improvements include alterations, kitchen, bathroom, accessibility modifications, carpeting, fencing and landscaping.

Provides housing rehabilitation for the low income, the aged, and people with disabilities. Works with local agencies, civic organizations, and churches to meet the housing needs of this population. Assists with getting indoor plumbing work done. Repairs and construction are done in the spring and summer.

Home repair, nuisance code enforcement, and commercial facade loan program.

Habitat offers reduced cost repairs to low-income local homeowners to make their homes accessible, livable, energy-efficient, and safe. Home repairs include exterior painting and weatherization, roof repairs, improving handicapped accessibility, and more.Trailers may be eligible for repairs. Projects to make a home accessible, livable, energy efficient and safe are considered. Cost of repairs may not exceed Habitat's $1,500 cost of repairs limit plus any donated funds or materials.

Emergency help repairing homes for families and individuals who cannot afford to buy services and those whose health or safety are threatened. Work usually includes exterior and sometimes interior repair; restoration of pumps, water heaters, and sinks; construction of wheelchair ramps and stairs; and roof repairs (at the availibility of volunteers). The main focus is elderly, disabled and families with young children.

Provides vital housing repair services to very low income individuals and families who are unable to help themselves due to sickness, disability or lack of financial resources. Programs include: Home Repair Program, Home Accessibility Modification Program, Home Replacement Program and Indoor Plumbing Rehabilitation Program.
