Weatherization - Rocky Mount, STEP Inc

Evaluate and weatherize homes. Weatherization services can include insulation, weather-stripping and caulking; water-heater blankets; window and door repair or replacement; inefficient refrigerator replacement; and heating and cooling systems repair or replacement. All energy efficiency measures are determined by an initial home energy audit.

Emergency Home Repair - Marion, Mountain Community Action Program

Assists low-income families and individuals to remove imminent health and safety hazards from their homes. Acceptable repairs include the repair of roofs, floors, building of ramps and porches, heating system repair and structural repair. Funds are limited to $4000 per client; client must pay remainder of repair work and client is responsible for getting three bids from licensed contractors. These funds are provided by a very limited Essential Home Accessibility and Repair Program (EHARP) grant.

Assistive Technology - Waynesboro, Mobility Independent Transportation Systems of Virginia

Provides mobility products for the elderly and disabled. Products include lift chairs, stair lifts, porch lists, wheelchairs, scooters, ramps and wheelchair accessible vans. All products for rent or lease. Provides financial assistance to purchase vans, scooters and new and used vehicles that are handicapped accessible. Offers a wide range of products including Lifts, Scooters and Portable Ramps and has a fully trained service staff specializing in van conversions.

Assist low-income and disabled homeowners with much needed home repairs to make their homes warm, safe and dry. Also address repairs that are a potential health risk to the home's inhabitants.
