A year-round shelter with 50 beds. The shelter can house a total of 14 families. Please note that the shelter is not a walk-in inclement weather shelter. Families are referred to the shelter through the Greater Richmond Continuum of Care coordinated point of entry. TO OUR HOUSE partners with faith-based and community organizations to provide temporary shelter for SINGLE homeless men and women during winter months (first Saturday in November through end of March). Report daily by 5:30pm to the Intake Center at NRCA; transportation provided to a warm location for the night and return to Intake Center the next morning. Meals provided.

Avalon operates an emergency shelter campus including six 2-bedroom apartment units for women with children and a 12-15 bed communal shelter for single adult women. Survivors may also be sheltered in hotels and in community based safe houses. Residents are provided with all their basic needs including shelter, food and clothing and offered case management, counseling and support groups, legal advocacy, hospital accompaniment, life skills training and van transportation services. Residents are provided assistance with gaining employment and transitional or permanent housing.

Offers transitional housing to homeless men, women and children with a broad range of needs. The program helps individuals achieve and sustain a higher quality of life through financial training opportunities.

The Loudoun County Youth Shelter provides short-term emergency shelter for young people, ages 12-17, who cannot live at home.

CARITAS provides 24/7 shelter, meals, and access to showers for laundry. Clients are able to work with Case management staff towards a specified a Housing Stabilization plan. This individualized plan identifies barriers to housing, establishes housing goals and identifies the steps that are necessary for individuals and families to exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency. Clients must be referred for shelter through the Housing Crisis Line. Do NOT accept walk-ins.

Services include an 18-bed shelter, court advocacy and accompaniment; crisis counseling, safety planning and psycho-educational support groups for adults and children; a 24-hour hot line; groups for court-ordered men and women; specialized services for Spanish speaking victims; community education as well as training for allied professionals, staff and potential volunteers.

This program helps those who are elderly, disabled or victims of fire. Based on each individual's need and our Board's guidelines, they may receive assistance with any of the following: material items, food. Some may qualify for assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities and heating (oil/propane/firewood).

A small residential shelter service is now offered for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault and their children.

The Homeless Connection Line facilitates access to resources and shelter alternatives for those who are three days or less away from losing their housing. This line is also available for those already experiencing homelessness.

Assists clients who are about to be evicted or have lost their residence and are in a temporary residence. All clients must be referred by CHIA (see intake number). No applications will be taken without a referral through CHIA. Program offers light financial assistance with heavy case management.

The Resource Navigation program works with families to stabilize housing, either by locating and securing housing or maintaining existing housing. The program also helps families with finding secure employment or coordinating education and training to achieve their employment goals.

Rush Homes provides accessible and affordable rental housing opportunities to adults with disabilities. Two of Rush Homes' developments offer permanent supportive housing to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. Partnered with Miriam's House to provide supportive services to meet the needs of each person. Additionally Rush Homes has set aside units for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who are able to live independently with supportive services in place.

Provides 24 hour crisis services. This includes 30 day temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and women and children who are homeless.

The Emergency Family Shelter program is comprised of six homes that can safely house up to 18 families of any composition with minor children. Shelter offers immediate crisis housing options including wraparound case management support, shelter, access to food, clothing, showers, laundry, and the bus line.

The Runaway Program and Project Safe Place provides temporary, emergency shelter and counseling to youth who are runaways, throw-aways, or are escaping unresolved family conflicts. This nationwide program is the only one of its kind within a 100-mile radius where youth can seek 72-hour sanctuary. The goal of the program is to intervene quickly, and assist the youth and their family with reunification. As an outreach of Link House, Project Safe Place seeks to educate youth to access services through Link House instead of running away and possibly facing uncertain dangers on the streets.

For the coldest weeks of the year, HELP coordinates with over 30 area churches to provide a place that is safe and warm. “A Night’s Welcome” is a nightly shelter, but its location changes throughout the season as area churches open their doors to those in need. With the help of many volunteers and organizations, two hot meals, toiletries, and community are provided for individuals and families that find themselves on the street each winter.

Transitional Housing for homeless men, Must be willing to make appropriate steps towards independece. Payment for stay will be assessed after an income has been established. Assist in any means necessary to achieve independence.

Provides emergency residential care and counseling to youth in crisis ages 13-17. Maximum length of stay 21 days. Provides services 24-hours/ day, year-round.

Emergency safe houses provide immediate shelter and protection to clients fleeing violent situations. These homes are at undisclosed locations across the region for the protection of clients. Clients typically reside in these homes for 30-140 days, depending on clients' individual needs.

Provides services to very low-income veterans who are homeless or face potential homelessness.
