Meal Sites - Cedar Bluff , Senior Congregate Nutrition Sites, Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens

Eight senior sites offer active adults 60 or older a friendly and fun place to gather for exercise, nutrition, health programs, and health screenings. Participants can also learn a craft and enjoy a nutritious lunch. Participants may be eligible for transportation assistance to the site. Sites are located in the following areas: Grundy; Tazewell;Dante; Clinchco; Pocahontas; Swords Creek; Clintwood; Richlands.

Nutrition Services - Farmville, Friendship Cafes, Piedmont Senior Resources Area Agency on Aging

Through its Friendship Cafes, Piedmont Senior Resources provides one nutritious meal a week to senior citizens in a group setting who are not able to obtain a well-balanced diet, due to physical, social, or financial limitations. In conjunction with the meal, weekly activities and services are provided in a group setting at a local community or senior citizen center.

Meals - Waynesboro, Disciples Kitchen, Second Presbyterian Church

Provides a free lunch, 11:30AM - 12:00PM served at the Second Presbyterian Church every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for area residents. This is an ecumenical effort supported by many other area churches. Also serves a brunch on Saturdays, from 10:30AM-11:30AM at Christ Tabernacle Church of God (489 North Winchester Ave). Second Presbyterian Church also has an Emergency Food Pantry for Clients referred by Salvation Army or Social Services. Contact Church by phone to arrange pick up.

Congregate Meal Site - Moneta, Moneta Nutrition and Education Site, Central Virginia Alliance for Community Living

CVACL's Education and Nutrition Sites provide hot, nutritionally balanced meals for older adults in a local group setting. Meetings include educational presentations and discussions, health screenings, adapted exercise sessions, recreational activities, artistic and cultural programming, and social events. Van transportation is provided for participants needing assistance traveling to and from the site or its events, as well as for occasional group trips to grocery stores, pharmacies, and local shopping. As part of CVACL's "wraparound" services, each site member is assigned a Care Manager to provide needs assessments, referrals, and follow-up.
