Residents must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level to receive assistance. The income guidelines can be found at: https://aspe.hhs.gov/

Application are on our website and printed copies are available in the Social Services office. Applicants need to provide proof of income, bank statements, and additional documents depending on assistance requested. For example, for educational expenses, we would need documents showing they are enrolled in an educational program. For rent, we would need to see a lease. Applications can be mailed, faxed, or dropped off in person. We are unable to accept documents or applications via email for security reasons.

Description

GCAP offers emergency assistance to low-income Goochland residents for food, rent/mortgage payments, and utilities. GCAP is also able to support low-income residents with educational expenses for job training, after-school childcare, and summer camp. Goochland Community Action Program (GCAP) is administered through the Goochland Department of Social Services. Applications are accepted via mail, fax, or drop-off in person.
