Serves only Eastern Montgomery County: Zip Codes 24162, 24087, 24138(Shawsville, Elliston area, Pilot)Use Federal Income Scale when determining eligibility. Those receiving SNAP, Individuals receiving SSI or Medicaid are automatically eligible.VA State; clients out of Elliston-Shawsville area are served but are encouraged to seek services in their own area of residence. Clients requesting food are always served on one-time basis if not determined eligible for services.

Food Pantry Distribution is held every Tuesday morning (except 5th Tuesday) from 11 to 12, except holidays when alternate date is set. Emergencies may be seen as soon as staff are able call 540-268-2916 emergencies are always handled expeditiously. There is a sign on the Food Pantry door informing persons seeking assistance to call the contact number the contact will determine how the particular request is handled within the week.

At this time, Head of Household applies by telephone for appointment. Telephone time approximately 3-5 minutes to get name, street address, telephone number where they can be reached, number in family with birthdates, and if not SNAP, SSI, or Medicaid, need family monthly income. Appointment is given and applicant is called with a reminder the day before distribution.
