Provides financial assistance to eligible pregnant, breast-feeding women and infants and children to age 5 in purchasing food and formula. Persons qualify for WIC if their household income does not exceed $35,317 and a family four qualify if household income doesn't exceed $42,643. All individuals and families who believe they may meet income guidelines are encouraged to apply. Only four visits to the health department per year to maintain eligibility are necessary in most cases to obtain financial assistance in buying groceries for the entire year.
