The circuit court also handles family matters, including divorce. In addition, the circuit court hears cases appealed from the general district court and from the juvenile and domestic relations district court. Court convenes at 9:00 a.m. on Term Days and civil days. Criminal court convenes at 10:00 a.m. Terms begin, 4th Thursday, Jan., Apr., July, & Oct. All cases set by agreement with Commonwealth's Attorney at preliminary hearing, on Term Day, or by agreement of counsel and the Court. The latter may be done by a telephone call to the Judge's office. Court convenes 9:00 a.m.
