MRHD's Epidemiology Program is to monitor and investigate reportable and emerging communicable diseases, investigate outbreaks, and provide guidance and recommendations to stop further spread of communicable diseases for the wellbeing of our communities.

The Carroll County Health Department is part of the Mount Rogers Health District of the Virginia Department of Health. A large variety of programs and health services are provided to enhance the health of the county's citizens. Programs include: WIC, Family Planning, Child and Adult Immunizations, Environmental Health, health screenings, worksite wellness, and many more. Some services are free and some are based on income.
