Appalachian Power and Dollar Energy Fund have teamed up to offer assistance to our neighbors in need. Assists low-income Appalachian Power customers who have difficulty paying their electric bill. Eligible customers will receive a utility assistance grant applied directly to their Appalachian Power bill to help maintain or restore basic electric service (up to $300 per calendar year). Eligible customers will have a household income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Available to customers who may not be eligible for the Energy Assistance Program. Grants are dispersed on a first-come first-serve basis to eligible applicants and are based on funding availability. Neighbor to Neighbor Program lends a hand to those who are experiencing financial hardships and need help to get back on their feet. Administered by Dollar Energy Fund, the program provides eligible customers with a utility assistance grant applied directly to their bill. This program currently serves American Electric Power and Old Dominion Power customers ONLY.
