Services are provided to older persons and their families who are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Works hand in hand with Adult Protective Services of local Department of Social Services, and follows state DSS guidelines for anonymous reporting of abuse.

Mountain Empire Older Citizens
MEOC is the area agency on aging and public transit provider for Lee, Wise and Scott Counties and the City of Norton in the southwestern tip of Virginia. MEOC also operates Mountain Empire PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), directs the Southwest Virginia Children's Advocacy Center and Mountain Laurel Cancer Support and Resource Center, and serves as the aging and disability resource center for its service area.
