Description
Hoofbeats Provides Therapeutic Horseback Riding and Equine Assisted Activities for disabled riders who are struggling with physical, mental, emotional, and learning disabilities. For therapeutic riding, clients must be a least four years of age with a disability. For emotional, physical, mental and learning etc., medical/therapist forms are required. Client must have no condition for which riding is contraindicated.

Provides therapeutic horseback riding and horsemanship instruction for the disabled. Hoofbeats serves people struggling with physical, mental, emotional and learning issues. Offers horsemanship instruction for non-disabled on a limited basis, offers girl scout and boy scout badges, educational programs, tours, booths and demonstrations. Participates in Special Olympics of Virginia. We are a Premier Accredited center through PATH, International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship), and a member center of TRAV (Therapeutic Riding Association of Virginia). Client Eligibility Requirements: For therapeutic riding client must be a least 4 years of age. There are some disabilities that are contraindicative for riding. Prospective riders are encouraged to come for a barn tour and meet the staff and horses prior to submitting paperwork.
