Volunteer Program - Richmond, Renew Crew, project:HOMES
The Renew Crew volunteer program provides critical home repairs and accessibility modifications, including wheelchair ramps, for low-income, older adults and disabled homeowners. The program is totally funded by private contributions. Work is performed by volunteers from area businesses, churches and civic groups. Typical repairs include painting, caulking, repairing walls and ceilings, replacing floors, rebuilding porches, clearing overgrown yards, demolishing unsafe out buildings and curing code violations. Accessibility work includes installing wheelchair ramps, hand railings, grab bars and ADA toilets and widening doorways.
