Farley Center at Williamsburg Place

The Farley Center is a 74 bed, abstinence based (including tobacco), adult substance use disorder treatment program providing individualized flexible services that contribute to a continuum of care assisting patients to achieve long-term sobriety. The treatment model offers patients detoxification and short-term stabilization in a residential setting as well as more flexible partial hospitalization that could vary from a few days to three months. During their stay, patients receive psychotherapy -individually and in a group setting- experiential therapeutic interventions, integration into a 12-step recovery program, education and sober-life skill-building. The multi-disciplinary team of professionals work collaboratively with each patient to identify issues that could sabotage recovery efforts such as co-occurring disorders, relationship conflicts and employment concerns to design a treatment plan. The Farley Center recognizes addiction as a primary disease and follows the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria to assign the appropriate level of care to patients. This internationally recognized assessment tool allows us to provide effective treatment planning and documentation to assists us in making decisions about continued service or discharge through on-going patient assessment. We honor a total abstinence approach, incorporating the evidenced based practices of 12-step facilitation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and a variety of pharmacotherapies. Patients learn how to understand addiction as a disease, address the denial of their disease, reconnect their feelings and identify core issues that perpetuate their need to use. Working collaboratively with peers and licensed therapists, patients develop relapse prevention strategies, acquire coping skills and involve their families in their recovery goals. Our multi-disciplinary team includes an addiction medicine physician, addiction psychiatrist, psychologists, licensed clinicians, nurses and patients allowing us to maximize a tridimensional treatment approach that involves the body, mind and soul.
