To preserve and present the Folk Life of the Blue Ridge. Official State center for Blue Ridge Folk Life. Working farm museum, 1800 period, Interpretive program. Rare breed farm animals. Blue Ridge Heritage Archive, Offices, Exhibit Rooms. Interpreter prepares meals over the open hearth, bake in an outdoor oven and carry out other period tasks amid heirloom vegetable gardens and early breeds of livestock.
