Call 276-523-7433 or 1-888-877-6748 at least 24 hours and up to 30 days before you need a ride. Reservations are taken on a first-call basis. You will need to provide your name and location. First-time riders will need to provide additional details.

Provides transportation to people of all ages on a demand response basis with a 24 hour notice required. Offers service to those with canes, walkers, wheelchairs, and to health and human services agencies wishing to contract with Mountain Empire Transit.

Mountain Empire Older Citizens
MEOC is the area agency on aging and public transit provider for Lee, Wise and Scott Counties and the City of Norton in the southwestern tip of Virginia. MEOC also operates Mountain Empire PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), directs the Southwest Virginia Children's Advocacy Center and Mountain Laurel Cancer Support and Resource Center, and serves as the aging and disability resource center for its service area.
