Description

Low Vision Services help Virginians with vision loss make the most of their remaining sight through a full range of community-based support. A team of trained professionals works together to provide services such as vision assessments, counseling, and training on how to use tools and techniques to improve daily life. This includes both optical aids, like magnifiers, and non-optical aids, such as lighting or contrast tools. The team looks at all areas of a person’s life to help them live more independently and confidently.

DBVI provides services and resources which empower individuals who are blind, vision impaired or deafblind to achieve their desired levels of employment, education, and personal independence. Services are provided through 4 main programs: Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Teaching and Independent Living, Low Vision Services and Education Services.
