Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are screened, trained and supervised to advocate for children who have been abused or neglected, and are typically in foster care. CASAs provide valuable information that helps judges make decisions in the best interest of the child.

Friends of the Portsmouth Juvenile Court (FRIENDS) offers programs to support families and youth transitioning through the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. We work with judges and juvenile probation officers to help prevent delinquency, child abuse, and neglect. FRIENDS supports court-involved youth and families by providing advocacy, supervision, and support services through our Court Appointed Special Advocate program, our Community Service Program, or our ACT NOW Portsmouth gun violence intervention program.
