Offers support to individuals with heart disease, their family members and cardiac care professionals. Visits patient/family in hospital before and after surgery and maintains telephone contact thereafter. Holds monthly meetings: four each year are informational; six are support groups and two are social. Also publishes bimonthly newsletters containing cardiac-related information. Make visits to heart surgery patients 365 days/year at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Heart and Vascular Institute and Virginia Hospital Center (formerly Arlington Hospital).
