Description

Offered in support of families interested in adopting children by compiling adoption home studies, as well as providing information regarding children who become free for adoption. There are several types of adoptions: agency initiated adoptions, adoptions that are parental placements, and step-parent adoptions. A subsidy may be provided for eligible children until age 18 or 21, depending on the status of the child (if they meet eligibility criteria set forth by policy). The Child Welfare Unit performs searches for adopted children who are searching for their natural parents.
