Agency info
Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia
Girl Scouts of the Commonwealth of Virginia is an organization dedicated solely to girls where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. The Girl Scouts mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place. Girls participate in programming that is age appropriate, girl-driven, teaches life skills, and reflects the interests and needs of today's girls. Girls gain important skills in four areas that form the foundation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience: STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), Outdoors, Life Skills and Entrepreneurship.
