A state of emergency has been declared in the City of Roanoke due to the incoming winter storm, which is expected to drop heavy snow and sleet beginning Saturday, January 24, and create safety risks and travel and essential service disruptions through Monday, January 26. Here's what you can do: • Prepare storm supplies now • Utilize off-street parking if possible to help snowplows move easily • Stay indoors and off the roads The following community centers will be available: -The Rescue Mission of Roanoke will be open 24 hours -Belmont Presbyterian Church, 1005 9th Street SE, will be open Saturday – Monday -RAM House will be open normal hours Saturday; CLOSED Sunday and Monday -The Least of These, 422 Luck Avenue SW, plans to be open 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, and can accommodate non-aggressive pets
