In order for patients to meet criteria for acute rehabilitation, they must be below their prior level of function, be able to tolerate at least 3 hours of therapy (broken up and given throughout the day), and must qualify for two therapies (OT, PT, or Speech). Examples of patients that may qualify for Acute Rehab are:
Stroke
Hip fracture- patients must have medical conditions that need to be monitored in the hospital setting and requiring at least moderate assistance with therapy
Spinal Cord Injury
Major Multiple Trauma
Neurological Disorders- Guillain Barre, Multiple Sclerosis
Cardiac patients
Post – surgical patients
Sepsis
Anoxic Brain Injury
Everyday 24 hours, 7 days a week
