Good Sam's Hope - Series of groups for school-aged children, offered in conjunction with various school systems. Designed to help children express and understand grief. To find out more information on how to start a group at your child's school, please call Good Sam. Living With Loss - Support group for adults grieving the loss of a loved one. Weekly sessions run for 8 weeks and combine education and group activities for discussion. Class is held four times per year. Pre-registration is required. Hope & Hot Chocolate - Held throughout the holiday season to help bereaved persons cope effectively with the demands of the holidays. Women and Men's Lunch Groups - An opportunity for those who have experienced the loss of a spouse or partner to get together for casual lunch and conversation. Call for meeting places/dates/times for Roanoke and NRV locations. Puzzle Pieces - Drop-in support group for bereaved persons interested in understanding grief better and being able to talk with others dealing with loss. The group is facilitated by hospice staff who help group members identify where they are in their own grief journey and gain new insights or coping tools. Knitty Gritty Grief Group - This grief support group combines knitting and crocheting and grief support. It allows each member to share their loss in a safe and compassionate environment while providing support through therapeutic interaction. After completing a project (e.g. prayer shawl, lap blanket, etc.), each member may keep their knitting or donate it to a hospice patient.
