Description

Providing help and hope to Virginians living with ALS and their caregivers while also advocating for and supporting the search for new treatments and a cure. Starting at diagnosis, the ALS Association begins providing care services support programs that help reduce financial burdens and improve overall quality of life. The ALS Association currently provides the following free care services support programs to people living with ALS and their caregivers throughout Virginia: Care Navigation, Augmentative and Alternative Communication/Assistive Technology Program Support, Ramps, Durable Medical, and Assistive Technology Equipment Loan Programs, Support Services at Multidisciplinary ALS Clinics, Support Groups, Virtual Home Assessments, Caregiver Support, Educational Programs and more.

The ALS Association seeks to discover the cause and cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) through dedicated research while providing patient support, information/education for health care professionals and the general public, and advocacy for ALS research and health concerns. Provide other services such as respite, assistive technology, medical equipment, and transportation (must be wheel chair bound with no other transportation).
