Administrative Entity - Richmond, Headquarters, Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired

The Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) helps people who are blind, vision impaired, or deafblind reach their goals at work, in school, and in everyday life. DBVI provides services that help people build skills, find jobs, use their remaining vision, and live more independently. Most services take place in the person’s home, school, or workplace, and referrals can come from individuals, families, schools, doctors, or community partners. DBVI has six offices across Virginia, and the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired offers similar training in a residential setting. Virginia Industries for the Blind also partners with DBVI to provide job training and employment.
