Description

Provides protection for children from abuse and neglect. Serves children regardless of income. Investigates and responds to reports of suspected abuse. Reports of child abuse and neglect may be made in person to the Department of Social Services, or they may be called into the child abuse hotline. Callers are not required to give his or her name when contacting the hotline. All reports are immediately investigated by social workers. A local worker is on call at all times.
