Those under 18 must volunteer with parental permission. Bilingual volunteers are strongly encouraged to apply. Specific programs may have additional eligibility requirements, including but not limited to an interview, references and a background check.

Description

JABA provides a variety of volunteer opportunities for people of all ages to participate more fully in the life of their community through service. Opportunities range from one-time to regular service and can include Insurance Counseling, activities support, health & wellness events, advocating for older adults, and more.

JABA - Jefferson Area Board for Aging

JABA offers information and a wide range of services that help older adults and individuals with disabilities remain active in the community. Services are available to those who can pay and to those who cannot. The inter-generational services include community senior centers in Charlottesville City and Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson counties that offer a gathering place for weekday socializing and hot lunch. Additional services include Aging Services Coordination, Home Delivered Meals, Respite & Enrichment Centers, caregiver support groups, Insurance Counseling, Senior Helpline, long-term care advocates, volunteer opportunities, and resources on home care, health services, affordable senior housing, assisted living and more.
