To be eligible for WIC, you must meet categorical eligibility which includes the following: Infants from birth to age 1 Children up to age 5 Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum Being a Virginia resident, being financially eligible, and being at nutritional risk Automatic Income Eligibility – Certain applicants can be determined income-eligible for WIC based on their participation in certain programs. These included individuals eligible to receive SNAP benefits, Medicaid, for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, formerly known as AFDC, Aid to Families with Dependent Children).
