Eligibility
Must be a creditworthy first-time homebuyer for some programs or those who have not owned a home in the last three years to access low-interest home loans. Must be a homeowner for repair loans. Must be behind on your mortgage or in danger of defaulting on your home loan for Foreclosure Prevention Counseling.
Very low to moderate income households.
Services available to residents of Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Washington counties as well as the City of Bristol.
Must purchase in Virginia for homeownership assistance or live in Virginia for repair loans.

Application process
Intake includes a financial analysis, spending plan, action plan, disclosures, privacy policy, authorization to share information and permission to pull a credit report. This program provides low-interest loans for homebuyers, down payment and closing cost assistance, home repair loans, and a Homeownership Education Program. Staff also provide housing counseling which includes budget and credit counseling, mortgage default and foreclosure counseling, Fair Housing counseling, and financial management.
