Courts - Courtland, Southampton General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Combined Courts-5th Judicial District of Virginia

The general district court handles most traffic violations, misdemeanors, and conducts preliminary hearings for felonies. The juvenile and domestic relations district court all matters involving juveniles, family matters such as custody, support and visitation, family abuse cases, cases where adults have been accused of child abuse or neglect, and criminal cases where the defendant and alleged victim are family or household members.
